Auction Is Success At St. Patrick's

Friends of St. Patrick's and St. Mary's gathered for a dinner and auction Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, to benefit the parish ministries and the school. The auction, which is an annual affair, was rated a huge success by parishioners considering the current economy. The day will also be remembered as a mild earthquake, with a 3.4 magnitude, occurred that afternoon, which caught most area residents off guard.

The day began with lunch served by the Home & School Association at 11 a.m. and was followed with the auction at 1 p.m. Proceeds from the auction to date total over $71,000, which exceeded last year. Fr. Filips said the success of the auction was due to

the faith and commitment of parishioners, and the generosity of local businesses, townspeople and friends who support the ministries of St. Patrick's and St. Mary's School.

The selling of a wide range of articles was conducted by the auctioneers Larry Wanser and Charles Everett. Fr. Filips and the Auction Committee were grateful for their services and humor which provided the crowd with an entertaining afternoon and evening.

Chairpersons for the event were Steve Goldfuss, Bob Regan, and Gary Hostert.

Thank you to everyone who helped to make this year's auction a big success.
