The junior class led the students in the Stations of the Cross held on Monday morning.  The fourth grade class planned the all-school Mass held yesterday.

Parents planning to send their kindergartners to St. Mary’s in 2003-2004 school year need to come to kindergarten round-up tonight at seven o’clock in the kindergarten room.

Congratulations to the oral interpretation of drama team of Jordan Anderson, Kathryn Fuchser, Megan Davis, and Emily Dugan.  They placed fifth at State speech last Friday in Kearney with their interpretation of K.T. Kern’s selection “The First Time Club”.

St. Mary’s hosted the Niobrara Valley Conference band clinic yesterday, March twenty-fifth.  The clinic was followed by a concert held for the public.  Guest clinicians were Dean Rettedal for the honor band and Chad Dean for the conference band.

In sports news, the sixth grade boys and girls have been competing in several basketball tournaments.  The sixth grade boys placed first in the St. Mary’s Booster Club tournament held last Friday.  The boys then traveled to Burwell on Saturday and Sunday where they placed second in the Burwell tournament.  They defeated Valentine, Grand Island, and Burwell.  They were then defeated by Loup City in the championship game.  Congratulations, boys on the successful weekend!

The girls and boys track teams will be partipating in the Spencer Early Bird this Saturday, March 29th, here in O’Neill.  The meet will begin with field events at ten o’clock a.m. and running events start at eleven o’clock.
