Good afternoon. I am Kathryn Fuchser. I am Jordon Anderson. Thank you for joining us for this segment of St. Mary's High School news. Let's take a look at the activities going on this week.

The second graders will be making their First Reconciliation tonight at seven p.m. An all-school Mass will be held Friday morning at 8:10 a.m. The sixth grade class is planning the Mass. Catholic Schools Week will begin this Sunday. The theme is "Making a World of Difference."

On January 13th and 14th St. Mary's held the Geography Bee contest. Out of twenty students Andrew Krotter placed third, Davida Butterfield placed second, and Colin Campbell was named Geography Bee winner. He took a test and will be notified in March if he's eligible for the State Bee held in April. The State winner competes in Washington D.C.

This week's senior profile is on Tom Fletcher. He is the son of Greg and Janet Fletcher of O'Neill. Tom is eighteen years old and has attended St. Mary's for twelve years. This year Tom is involved in football and golf. In his spare time he likes to play X-Box, learn Flash, and watch TV. After high school Tom plans to attend Hastings College and double major in information technology and electronics.

Now let's take a look at what's happening in sports. The varsity wrestlers had three meets this past week. The first meet took place at Albion on January sixteenth. Tyler Cole placed first in the 119-pound weight class, and Tim Krugman received first place in the 215-pound weight class. The next meet was on January eighteenth at Elkhorn. Tyler Cole again finished in first place, and Tim Krugman earned a second place medal.

The varsity wrestlers also had a meet yesterday in Ord. Tyler Cole placed _________, and Tim Krugman received _____________ place. The next varsity wrestling meet is January twenty-third at Clearwater. The next junior varsity meet is January twenty-fifth at Neligh.

Congratulations to the junior high boys that placed third at the Stuart Tournament last weekend. They first lost to Spencer and then played Butte in the consolation game.

Thursday, January 23, Atkinson will travel and play the junior high boys at St. Mary's at six thirty.

The junior high girls and boys basketball teams will attend the Spencer-Naper Booster Club Tournament on Saturday, January 25. Games will begin 8:30.

Monday, January 27, the junior high boys will play at St. Mary's against Chambers. Games will start at six thirty.

The scoreboard for last Thursday's basketball action looks like this. The junior varsity boys played Ewing and won with the final score 56-49. The varsity girls defeated the Tigers, 49-34. The varsity boys lost in a close, exciting game, 53-56.

Last Friday night, the Cards traveled to Spencer/Naper. The JV girls won with the score, 33-23. The varsity girls won 44-34. The varsity boys were defeated 43-62.

Yesterday the JV teams went to Atkinson and both teams came out with losses.

On Friday, January twenty-fourth the high school basketball teams travel to Stuart for marathon play. The junior varsity girls will play at 4 p.m. followed by the junior varsity

boys, varsity girls, and varsity boys. On Saturday, January twenty-fifth the teams travel to Lynch to face the Eagles. The junior varsity girls and boys will each play two quarters, followed by the varsity games. Play will begin at 5 p.m.
