Good afternoon.  I am Gina Hoesing and I am Matt Schaaf.  We return this afternoon with the Journalism One class weekly broadcast of news from Saint Mary’s High School.  On this special day we remember the victims of 9-1-1 and their families and continue to offer our prayers for each of them.

This morning a special all-school Mass was held in honor of September 11.  We

paid our respects to those who lost their lives.  Pilots, firefighters, rescue workers, and law

officials were all represented.  The Pledge of Allegiance was also recited in honor of our

nation.  The sophomores remember that on Septemeber 11 they were in Confession when they heard the tragic news.  Throughout the day they were able to watch the news on TV.The junior class also shared their memories of 9-11.  They remember finding out

about the attacks in the morning and watching the tragic events on television throughout

the day.  Laura Cameron and many other juniors said they felt safe in O’Neill, but the

attacks made them reflect on the safety of our country.  Senior Brooke Earley said that she

found out about the terrorist attacks during her Literature class. She and the rest of her

class watched the news reports in silence. Brooke says she is not afraid of another attack on the anniversary.
