Good afternoon. I am Tom Fletcher. And I am Christine Troshynski.
Welcome back to our weekly broadcast of St. Mary’s School news.

St. Mary’s students had a welcomed extended Thanksgiving vacation
when Mother Nature sent the snow storm on November 26 and 27 to give us
Monday and Tuesday off for snow days and begin our classes with a late start
on Wednesday, November 28th. The junior high girls basketball game was
postponed as was our last week’s radio broadcast on KBRX. Mr. Gellerman
had to postpone plans for a Madrigal performance before Christmas because of
time needed for practices. The musical special will be rescheduled to a later
date.
The one-act district play contest was then held last Thursday at Stuart.
Congratulations goes out to the one-act cast for placing second with their
performance of “Do Not go Gentle.” Sargent took first place honors. Ashley
Braun, Shannon Holz, and Kevin Ohri all received special recognition for
outstanding performances at the district level. The cast under the direction of
Ms. Jennifer Goettertz then held the public performance on Sunday December 2.
This Friday, December 7th there will be an all-school Mass at 8:10 a.m.
The grade school will minister the Mass which is being planned by the grade
school teachers.
The winter sports’ programs are now in full swing! The junior high girls
basketball team along with the junior high wrestling team have already competed
in several events.
The junior high girls’ basketball team is going strong into their season. Roger
Weise coaches both the seventh and eighth grade teams. The eighth grade won over
Atkinson. They lost to Stuart and then won over Butte to place third in the Stuart

five games and are now 2-3 on the season. The seventh graders have lost to Atkinson and
to Chambers. The next game for the junior high girls’ basketball teams is tomorow
against Atkinson for their home opener. The game starts at 6:30. Come out and support
the Junior Cards.
Last month on November 8 Alex Ascheral traveled to Plainview for his
first wrestling match of the year. Alex had one pin and one loss. The
following week Alex then traveled to Creigton and had two losses. On
November 27 in Albion Alex had one win and two losses. Alex’s next
