Brooke Earley

Hi my name is Brooke Earley. I am a junior at O'Neill St. Mary's. I like to play sports including volleyball, softball, and track. Other after school actvities that I'm involved in are drill team, mock trial, and church choir. I don't have much free time but when I do find it, I like to talk to my friends on the internet and read!

SPORTS

Currently I am involved in volleyball. We are expected to do really well this year with seven returning letter winners. It will be a tough season but we have some strong girls on team.

 

During the summer I play softball for the O'Neill Fighting Irish 16 and under. It is my favorite sport and my teamates make it a lot of fun. Our last season went really well in the beginning but towards the end we started to pull apart. I think the girls just got tired of playing so many games. Our record was a solid 40-10. We didn't do as well as planned at the class B State Tournament in Sioux City but there is always next summer!!!

Track season doesnt start again untill sometime in March. I'm looking forward to it though. Last season, due to an injury I was unable to compete in my favorite event - hurdles. This season I will be back though! The one even that I did get to participate in was the 4x100 meter relay. We will have a strong team coming back and our goal is to make it to the state track meet at Burke Stadium.

DRILL TEAM AND DANCE! 

I have been in Irish Dancing for 11 years now. We have one main program at the end of the school year but we also dance for the St. Patricks Day celebration and other parades in different towns. I am also a member of the St. Mary's Highschool drill team. We dance at half time of football and boys basketball games. In June of 2002 we plan on attending the State Games in Lincoln to compete. Our goal is to dance at as many games possible and to grow together as a team. We have a young team this year with only three seniors and one junior out of twelve girls.
