Craig Derickson '73

Craig is a member of the St. Mary's class of 1973 and was the Toastmaster of St. Mary's Alumni Banquet held on June 27, 1998. He attended Wayne State College and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Craig received his B.S. degree in agriculture and natural resources from UNL in 1979. In May 1998, he will receive a Master's degree in Administration from Doane College in Crete. Craig was employed by the University of Nebraska department of Agriculture and Natural Resources from 1978 to 1985, as a research assistant and as a soli scientist. He has worked fro the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service since 1985, and currently serves as the Assistant State Conservationist for Conservation Technology. Craig is married to Kate Mattern, a 1974 graduate of St. Mary's. They have two children, Madeline age 17, and Keith age 15. Kate is a sixth grade teacher at Cathedral of Risen Christ, and Madeline and Keith attend Pius X High School in Lincoln. Craig is the son of Sam and Nancy Derickson, and Kate is the daughter of Bill and Marilyn Mattern, all of O'Neill.
