=====
After earning my PhD, I moved from Cambridge (UK) to Espoo, Finland, where
I'm doing inter-cultural relations consultancy as well as editing and
proofreading for clients in various countries. Via the Internet, I've
worked on such projects as TV scripts, legal journals, political speeches,
and maintenance manuals for military vehicles.
When I'm not busy with work, a five-minute walk can take me to the
Baltic Sea - or, in winter, onto its frozen surface. I'm in an ideal
location to easily enjoy a nearby national park, check out the live music
available in Helsinki, or pop over to Estonia's mediaeval capital for the
weekend. Most of my recent travels have involved exploring this part of
the world (Estonia, picturesque northern Norway, Stockholm, Russia's
nearby St. Petersburg, etc.), but I recently also had the opportunity to
spend a few days in the Republic of Ireland, with its lovely coastal views
and haunting, often majestic ruins. We live in an amazing world.
In my free time closer to home, I enjoy wordplay, running a weird news
mailing list, studying languages, spending time with friends, and
corresponding with people all over the world.
