February started out tough for the Cardinals, with a loss to the Spencer-Naper Pirates in the semifinals of the NVC tournament, but they qualified to play in the consolation game in the tournament. The Cardinals took on the Orchard Orioles and lost in overtime, but took fourth place in the NVC tournament.
After the NVC tournament, the boys traveled to Butte and put together a fine performance to tame the Wildcats. However, the Cardinals ran into some trouble with the Coyotes of Chambers later in the week The Cardinals had an extremely poor shooting performance and were unable to get the ball inside. The Cards were also missing starting post player, Jesse Reiman, who is a crucial part to their inside-outside game. The Cards rallied in the next week against the Crusaders of Pope John. The game was a four quarter struggle, but the Cardinals returned Jesse Reiman to the starting line up and also returned John Hurley, and were able to pull out a win.
The Cardinals will head into Sub-Districts with the number three seed and will face off against the Cody-Kilgore Cowboys. If the Cardinals win, the will play the winner of the Spencer Naper and Butte Game.
