The Horse and His Boy
by Tony Novak
As The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe has been in theatres lately, I have found myself reading the rest of the series of the Chronicles of Narnia. I have just finished with The Horse and His Boy. This is the third book in the series. It is about a young boy named Shasta, who, living a troubled life with a man who is not his father, flees when he hears news of being sold for slavery. What Shasta did not expect to find was a talking horse who was from a magical land called Narnia. Shasta then finds himself on an adventure through treacherous land and desert to try to get to the land of Narnia. On the way, however, Shasta is mistaken for a Prince, and is taken on an even more magical adventure to save the lands of Narnia and Archenland from the forces of evil. Shasta then learns about his past, and finds out that he is a twin to the Prince, making him a prince himself, the son of the King of Archenland. This was a good book in my opinion. It was a very adventurous book, and although it wasn't a very challenging read, it was a very nice leisurely read that kept you guessing.
