The St. Mary's Student Council held their annual Sweetheart Dance on February 16, 2003. The theme this year was "Pretty in Pink." The Sweetheart Dance committee decorated the Parish Hall with pink, red, and white balloons. The Student Council decorated on Saturday morning before the fun night. The dance was held from 9:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. with Complete Music out of Norfolk.

The coronation was held around nine o'clock to crown the new king and queen of Sweetheart 2003. The 2003 king was Mike Simons, and the 2003 queen was Brooke Earley. Attendants to the royalty from the senior class were Matt Willis and Kristen Carr. The junior class attendants were Nick Welding and Emily Dugan. Sophomore class attendants were Justin Kruse and Rachael Gray. And finally the freshman class attendants were Charles Shields and Katie Fletcher.

Last year's king and queen, Christopher Bahrij and Sara Kelly, attended the 2003 coronation to crown the new king and queen with the help of the crownbearers Molly Atkeson and Zachary Novak.
