Boys Basketball

 

The Cardinal boys basketball team is looking forward to a very successful season returning a lot of experienced players. They will look to improve upon a record of 14-8 from the last two seasons and have a goal of making some noise at the State tournament. the coaches remain the same this season with Mike Pardun returning as the head coach and Tony Allen assisting him. Numbers for the team are looking good with 19 players participating--one senior, seven juniors, eight sophomores, and three freshmen. The runnin’ redbird’s first game was against the Clearwater, with a score of 62-39, followed the next night with a game against the Orchard Orioles at Orchard. This game ended with the Cardinals on top 56-49. On December 4th, the Cardinals traveled to Verdigre to take on the Hawks. The teams were tied 64-64 at the end of regulation play and St. Mary’s went on to win the competition 77-72 in over-time. The Cardinal men defeated the Neligh-Oakdale Warriors Tuesday night at home. Nice job, Cardinals!
