Janitors Deserve Respect

Hi Art! Howdy Mel! Aruther Holz and Melvin McClem are two men who courageously keep this school running. Without the chores of Mel and Art, just think what this school would be like? Well, let me tell you! It would be a cold, dark, damp, dusty, insect ridden building, certainly not a place for learning.

There is no way we, as students, could function in an environment like that. If we sat down and tried to add up all of Mel's mileage behind the broom and vacuum, the number of hours would be astonishing. We, as students, should take into consideration the hard work of these men and endeavor to help these gentlemen by pickling up after ourselves. This dynamic duo of custodians do everything in their power to make this school presentable to the public. For example it is all up to Art and Mel to prepare for every home volleyball, football, basketball, and church related event. In addition, the surroundings of the school buildings are under their supervision.

I think it's high time we thank Art and Mel for their combined thirty years of service. In the dictionary the definition of janitor is: a person who has the care of a building. It is obvious that Art and Mel CARE for the appearance of Saint Mary's! Thanks Aruther Holz and Melvin McClem.
