Saturday, February 18, St. Mary's gym was alive with the sounds of volleyball, as the FBLA hosted their first annual co-ed volleyball tournament. Eight teams from all over came to try to win the fifty dollar purse.
Liesch's team, from Fullerton dominated the competition, and walked away with the championship. Grover's, from Elba came in second. Two of the teams were made up of St. Mary's students, and one team consisted of St. Mary's Faculty members. These teams learned the hard way that to some, volleyball is much more than a game, as the two student teams won the seventh and eighth places hands down. Each team paid a thirty-five dollar entry fee, and the FBLA made $200.
