On Sunday, Feb. 12, the annual Sweetheart Dinner, and a silent auction, sponsored by St. Mary's Home and School Association, was held in the Parish Hall. More than 450 people enjoyed a delightful turkey dinner which helped support the fund raiser. Sharyn Troester, chairperson, reported the dinner and auction together made a net income of $ . Carol Willis, ticket sales, added that the dinner went very well. She also stated that people looked forward to the dinner and enjoyed it. Fine articles and food items were donated and later purchased.
Proceeds from the dinner and auction will be used to purchase items for both Saint Mary's high school and grade school. This year's project is to include carpeting for a grade school classroom, ceiling fans, and a donation toward the installation cost of window air conditioners for several high school classrooms.
