Saint Mary's had a roller coaster boy's basketball season. The Runnin' Redbirds started off slowly but caught fire midway through the season and ended the season slowly losing two of their last three games. All in all, the Cards had a successful season-finishing with ten wins and eleven losses. The cagers were lead by four senior starters: Russ Berg, Tim Gokie, Dave Williamson, and Kevin Heitz. Ryan Berg, Brian Hoesing, Dave Dougherty and Andy Willis were also heavy contributors throughout the season. The Boys were coached by Mike Pardun with assistance by Timothy Schneider and Richard Butts. "The team played hard and their best effort was always given," states Dave Williamson. The four seniors really turned this program around having the best season since 1990, making St. Mary's boy's basketball respected in area play.
