Seniors Sneak to Denver

On April 22, the St. Mary's Seniors loaded up their two vans for an exciting trip to Denver. Parents, Mel Selting, Jim Gokie, and Nancy Moss accompanied them on this journey.

The group stopped for a break in Paxton, Nebraska where they went to Ole's. Here they saw animals from every continent of the world that one man killed and taxidermied.

When they arrived in Denver, navigator Mel asked several for directions before finally reaching Marycrest. Sixteen sleepy people retired to the guest house where they were graciously received by the Fransican Sisters.

Mile High Stadium was the destination for Saturday afternoon, where they watched the Colorado Rockies smoke the Chicago Cubs. After the game they assembled in the guest house for pizza and pop. Later that evening, the group ventured to downtown Denver to Comedy Sports Club, where they enjoyed entertainment provided by eight talented comedians. To end their evening, they drove around viewing the sites from downtown Denver.

On the morning of April 24, the group attended mass at Marycrest, followed by brunch, where they renewed acquaintances with their second and fourth grade teachers, Srs. Bernadette and Annette. For lunch, they ate at Casa Bonitas Mexican restaurant by a beautiful artificial cascade where divers entertained the groupl. Before departing, the senior gang shopped at Cherry Creek mall.

The finale of the year was an unforgettable trip!
