Irish baseball opens its thirty game season on May 27, with a home game against the Battlecreek Braves baseball squad. O'Neill Midget and Juniors will have the same coaches this year, with Dennis Cork and James Parks at the helm. Dennis and J.J. coached the state qualifying Midget team last year, and hope to make back to back appearances for the Midgets, and an appearance for the Juniors. Although the Juniors lost five key players from last year's team, they are hoping that this year's rookies will step up their game, and play like the big boys. Both teams had a very successful season last year and are looking forward to another year as a baseball powerhouse in northeast Nebraska.
