When I hear the name Charlie Sheen, I think of slapstick, one-liner comedies like Hot Shots and Hot Shots Part Deux. Terminal Velocity, however, is billed as an action adventure film. It is filled with great shots of skydiving and gunfights, but surprisingly, it also had its share of funny lines. I went to the theater expecting a pretty good action film with a complex plot, funny moments, and a love story to boot.
Charlie Sheen plays a crazy, daredevil parachuter (named Ditch) who is given a new student. When doing her first dive, she jumps too soon, and doesn't open her chute. Ditch's company is shut down, and he faces manslaughter charges. His dilemma rises when he gets a visit from the student, he thought dead. She gives him little details, but leads him on an adventure, searching for secret information.
This movie had many plot twists and kept me interested the whole time. Its splash of comedy made it a great movie. I give it 3 1/2 stars (out of five).
