What ever happened to the spirit here at St. Mary's? This question has been on my mind for many years, and up until Homecoming week, I had believed that the spirit here at St. Mary's was dead and buried. After experiencing the 1994 homecoming week at St. Mary's, I realized just how wrong I was. Under the direction of this year's senior class, the school spirit was pulled out of the grave and brought back to life. I've been in this high school for four years and have never seen as much enthusiasm as I witnessed on the Friday of homecoming this year. Even at the volleyball game, the whole crowd got behind the girls and sparked a come from behind victory over the Stuart Broncos. The spirit then carried over into the football game and drove the boys to a crushing victory over Stuart.

Now that the spirit is back, we as students need to show our school pride in all we do, whether it's on the playing field, or when we're out on our own. Let's keep the attitude of winners and when it comes down to the finish, we will all be winners in the game of life.
