Junior Mock Trial Team Performs Effectively

Enthusiastic and vibrant, just a few words to describe this year's junior class mock trial team. Frosty Peetz and Mr. Wolken took on an inexperienced group, comprised of Kim Boettcher, Zach Zastrow, and Brian Hoesing, who assumed the roles of team lawyers. The witnesses were assumed by Andrea Flaherty, Luke Zak, Adam Manoucheri, and Brian Chaney. The team had little time to prepare, as they received their first case five days before competition. The team worked diligently up to competition day, but lost a close case to the Ainsworth blue team. The team came back that following Friday against O'Neill Public's team, as was evident in their presentation. This win entitled them to move on into the next round of the loser's bracket to face Basset Rock County. This time they were the defense rather than the prosecution, which was difficult because there was little time to prepare. The juniors put forth a great effort, but weren't prepared and fell to the hands of the Rock County team. "A learning experience," were the words from Kim Boettcher on the mock trial. The team is looking forward to next year and are anxious for next year's competition.
