Seniors Take on Omaha

St. Mary's seniors took Omaha by storm recently. Their overnight class trip included dinner, shopping, stand-up comedy, a ride on a bicycle built for six and a sitting as subjects of a class drawing by "The Old Market Artist" in the Old Market.
Other attractions visited by the seniors were the movie "Indecent Proposal," the Fun Plex, and hours of shopping at Crossroads and Westroads.
After much supplication the seniors found four available sponsors: Lon Dubois, Ann Pongratz, Maureen Balk and Chuck Wrede. The seniors feel very grateful for the sponsors' good nature and time.
Two three-room suites at the Best Western New Tower Inn West on Dodge Street provided lodging for the group the night of Friday, April 23. Seniors used class funds from fund raisers to pay for the hotel and transportation expenses.
On Saturday April 24, all but one of the St. Mary's 1993 graduates boarded the vans and suburban to arrive in O'Neill by 8:30 p.m.
The carefully planned excursion (most of the planning done by Bridget Wanser and Michaela Braun) was one of the seniors' very last times to "bond" as a class. "It was too short--we need more time" and "It was a lot of fun" were some of the comments made by the seniors about the trip.
