Editorial Page
Our May issue marks the last of my three years as some type of editor of the Marian Outlook. I take this chance to thank the alumni who publish the Marian before I was old enough to join the staff, our readers, Advisor Mrs. McCarville, and most importantly, the very special people who gave me positive (and also negative) feedback when each paper came out. Their encouragement was so very important, for there are times in newspaper work when one feels as if she is writing and collecting work for an illiterate public to read!
It has been an experience-laden two years of deadlines, excitement, controversy, and technical learning. In March, we tried something new, a Literary edition. It was but on of the magnitude of emphases possible for a St. Mary's publication.
Spring happens such as track, prom and graduation are covered in this, our last edition of the year and my last ever. I hope the articles are informative and interesting. Even more fervently, I hope that there will be those who carry on the Marion Outlook tradition of hands-on newspaper experience in high school whether in photography, design, investigation, reporting, writing, editing, and other skill areas. It is here for the takingMonica Gallagher
