ADVISOR'S
COMMENT
"Learning to use language is
learning to become a person." (John Rouse). For this reason, I am
enthusiastic and proud of this collection of S.M. Students' writings,
our first literary edition. Every student thinks and feels things
that are worth saying. They can write these thoughts beautifully,
like the great writers of the past and present. Everybody is talented
and original. Writing does not always have to be a serious business;
it can be an entertaining an imaginative sport. Our collection is an
effort to feed on students' creative impulses. Our editor has
selected prose and poetry, light and serious. I hope our young
writers will find excitement in their first publication in this
edition. I also anticipate that the literary edition will serve as a
source of encouragement for all students in their writing efforts.
Know that you have talent and something important to say. In any
case, as you read on, we trust that you will be entertained and
enlightened.
