Mary Van Every

Funeral Services for Mary Van Every, age 86, of O’Neill will be 10:30 A.M. - Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill with burial in the O’Neill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 P.M., Friday at Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill with an 8 P.M. Parish Rosary. She passed away Wednesday evening at Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital in O’Neill.

She is survived by; her husband, Kenneth of O’Neill, 1 son, Thomas Etherton and his wife, Lorraine of Atkinson, 1 daughter, Joan Long and her husband, Randy of O’Neill, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 5 step-children, Gerald Van Every and his wife, Sharma of Bassett, Dennis Van Every and his wife, Kathy of Page, Kathleen Van Every of LaVista, Mary Jo Lichleiter of Seward, George Van Every and his wife, Karen of Page, 8 step-grandchildren, 7 step great-grandchildren, 2 sisters Maxine Poesen and Pauline McKenzie both of California, special friends and caregivers; Kathy Krieger and her daughter Bailey of O’Neill.

Mary was born May 6, 1921 at Atkinson, Nebraska to Casper and Anna (Anderson) Winkler. On February 20, 1947 she married Edward Etherton at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill. They lived in the O’Neill area. He passed away May 30, 1960. Mary taught school at St. Mary’s Grade School in O’Neill for 37 years. On August 11, 1978 she married Kenneth Van Every at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill. They made their home in O’Neill. Mary was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill. and St. Patrick’s Altar Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, an infant sister, Rita Marie, 1 brother, George and 1 sister, Ethel.
