Michael Damien Troshynski, age 65, of Stuart, passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at West Holt Memorial Hospital in Atkinson.

Visitation was held from 4-8 pm on Thursday, Dec 6, 2007, at Seger Funeral Home in Stuart with a 7 pm prayer service.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 am on Friday Dec 7, 2007, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stuart. Father Luke Steffes officiated the service. Music was provided by the St. Boniface Choir, soloist, John Madsen, accompanied by organist, Deb Kaup.

Pallbearers were Ray Wagman, Sonny Nactman, Bill Troshynski, Ronnie Murphy Wayne Wiseman and Tim Minton.

Interment was held at 1 pm at the Calvary Cemetery in O'Neill with Military Rites conducted by the Stuart Legion Post.

Seger Funeral Home of Stuart was in charge of arrangements.

Michael was born June 4, 1942, in Holt County to Michael A. and Lauretta (Murphy) Troshynski. He was educated in rural Holt County schools and graduated from St. Mary's High School in O'Neill in 1960. He joined the United States Navy and served from 1960 to 1962. Michael married Suzanne Osborne in Marysville, KS, on Sept 5, 1964. They had one daughter. Michael and Suzy divorced and Michael married Evelyn McCray on Feb 12, 1977.

Michael began his career as a radio announcer during his high school days in O'Neill. He then worked at the radio station in Marysville, KS, and at KRFS in Superior. He moved his family to O'Neill and delivered mail to the Opportunity Route customers in the O'Neill area and worked for KBRX radio station. He and Evelyn bought and managed Radio Station KBJM in Lemon, SD. Later Michael purchased the Shamrock Homes business in O'Neill where he worked until he retired in the Stuart area.

He was a member of the Elks Club, the American Legion Cub and the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stuart. Michael liked to bowl, golf and fish. He especially liked to work in his garden, and working with his animals at the farm.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Jill Murphy and husband Kevin of Stuart; two granddaughters; four step-granddaughters; sisters, Leona Hershiser of O'Neill, and Betty Minton and husband Dick of Albuquerque, NM; brother Jim Troshynski and wife Betti of Kenesaw; former wife, Suxanne Appel of Marysville, KS; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lauretta and Mike; wife, Evelyn; brother, Richard; sisters, Muriel and Miriam; niece, Dorothy, brothers-in-law, Francis Hershiser and Erwin Murray; and son-in-law, Frosty Carleen.
