Hurley Places Second at Michelob Classic

Two hundred nineteen golfers competed in eleven flights at the Michelob Classic held at Riverside Golf Club in Grand Island June 10-11.

Mike Krumland from Columbus had a two-shot lead over John Hurley after the first day shooting a six-under par 68. John fired a four-under par of 66. Krumland's putter continued to be hot the second day as he matched his first round score of 66 to finish with a tournament record of 12-under par 132 to beat John by three strokes. John shot a five-under par round of 67 for a total of nine-under par 135 for the two days. The round was action-packed up through the final hole and provided entertainment for many spectators.

John will be competing in the Nebraska Men's Match Play held at Shadow Ridge Country Club in Omaha June 13-17. Tuesday, June 13 will be the qualifying round with Wednesday starting the match play event.
