Ron Anderson and Pat Anson, cochairmen of the vocational committee of the O'Neill Rotary Club, presented the 2006 Rotary scholarships to Liz Willis and Lisa Vavra at the May 9 Rotary meeting.

Tow $1,000 scholarships are awarded by the Rotary each year to graduating seniors from O'Neill.

Scholarship criteria includes academics, a 1,000 word essay and extracurricular activities, with an emphasis on community service. An applicant must also have shadowed a Rotary member at their workplace to qualify for the scholarship.

Liz graduated from St. Mary's High School and is the daughter of Keith and Carole Willis. Lisa graduated from O'Neill Public School and is the daughter of Marvin and Debra Vavra.
