High School Students Receive Hastings College Top Scholarships

Top high school students from. across the Midwest have been selected to receive Hastings College's most prestigious scholarships for the 2006-07 academic year including: Walter Scott Scholarships, Trustee Scholarships, President Scholarships and Pro Rege Scholarships.

Elizabeth Willis, O'Neill, daughter of Keith and Carole Willis, and a future graduate of St. Mary's High School was awarded a President Scholarship worth $8,000 per year, or $32,000 for four years. Brienna Barelmann, Chambers, daughter of Mark and Tammy Barelmann, a future graduate of Chambers Public School was awarded ProRege Scholarship worth $6,000 per year, or $24,000 for four years. Scholarships are renewable if recipients maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Recipients may also be eligible for additional special skills scholarships.

Students must also rank in the top 20 percent of their senior class and score a 26 composite score or higher on the ACT exam or at least a 1, 170 combined score on the SAT exam.
