St. Patrick's Celebration Goes on Inspite Of Weather

PATRICK'S KING AND QUEEN - Tom and Vicki Earley were crowned as this
year's Irish royalty by the O'Neill Men's Club.
Even with a major winter storm in the eves waiting to strike, the luck of the Irish prevailed stalling the brunt of the storm until Sunday giving the crowds time to return home.
The O'Neill Men's Club crowned Tom and Vicki Earley as the royalty for this year's event.
Top honors in the commercial class of the parade went to Shamrock Nursery and second place to the Wm. Krotter entry. In the noncommercial class first place went to "Christ Lutheran--Church and second to the H'TC Youth Task Force. In the youth class, first place went to Emily Elsberry and second to the C.L.A.S.S. entry.
The annual Fun Run got under way with 207 participants. First place in the 2.5 mile run went to Kevin Weeder with a time of 15:30:00 and first across the line for the women was Shelly Prescott with a time of 20:21:00. In the five mile run Tom Nichols crossed the finish line with a time of 29:04:00 and for the women Debbie Carstensen entered a time of 34:33:00. For the O'Neill runners Ned Oreshkov was first for the men in the 2.5 mile run with a time of 15:52:00 and Emily Everitt was first for the women with a time of 22:37:00. In the five mile run Daniel Waterman crossed the line first for the O'Neill runners with a time of 35:56:00 and Bobbi Walters crossed the line for the women with a time of 42:15:00.
