Irish Celebration To Be Held This Weekend

Once again the intersection at Fourth and Douglas; as well as the dress code, will turn to green for this weekend's festivities in the Irish Capital.
O'Neill will once again celebrate the 40th annual Irish holiday begin= ningonFriday, March 17. The O'Neill Knights of Columbus will be hosting a fish fry, at the K:C. Hall in west O'Neill starting at 5:00 p.m. At 7:00 p.m. there will be library survivor challenge at the O'Neill Public Library for children ages 11-14 years old.
On Saturday, the O'Neill Grade School will hold a Green Eggs and Ham and Literature Fest breakfast. Tickets for this event are on sale at KBRX and are $1.00. The Republican Party reception will start at 10:00 a.m until 4:00 p.m. at the Blarney Stone Restaurant.
The St. Patrick's Day Fun Run will commence on Saturday with registration at 9 a.m. until 10`.15 a:m: at St. Mary's High School. The run be. gins at 10:30 a.m.
The annual Mulligan Stew will be served at St. Patrick's Parish Hall starting at 11:00 a.m.
At high noon the Irish Dancers will take to the World's Largest Shamrock.
The Irish presentations will be held at 12:30 p.m. with the Men's Club to present the royalty of the day at the Shamrock.
The grand parade will begin at 1:00 pm with this year's theme, Go, For The Green.
Other -events of the day are a kids carnival at the NECC Gym running from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The Holt County Historical Society will hold a raffle drawing at 3:00 p.m. at the Kinkaid Building at 4th.and Douglas.
There will be a Civil War Living. History Reenactment Display at 4th and Hancock across from the depot.
To finish off the fun, the Lions Club will again present Husker Hoops : with a new starting time this year at 5:00 p.m. at the 0'Neill High School gym,
