Students at St. Mary's recently received a very generous thank you from Harry Knobbe, a rancher from West Point who heads up the Louisiana Hay Relief project in Nebraska. Knobbe heard of the project while in Denver at a National Cattlemen's Beef Association convention.
Over 30 students, teachers and parents from St. Mary's helped out on a Saturday morning to fill two trailers with hay that were headed for Louisiana.
"It was great to see so many show up, to help load the semi trucks with hay," Harry Knobbe stated in a thank you letter to the students. You showed me you know how to load a truck!" he continued.
In the letter Knobbe shared that he is a very strong Catholic school supporter.
I witnessed St. Mary's Catholic High School students' faith in action Saturday in doing community service for those affected by Katiiria," Knobbe said.
He complimented them on their good stewardship and encouraged them to keep passing on those good deeds
"Remember when we serve, we are served," he shared.
In appreciation of their earlySaturday morning help, Knobbe contibuted $1,000 to St. Mary's Catholic High School.
"So, it can continue to educate the whole person, body, mind and spirit," he concluded.
