UNMC College Of NursingHolds Induction Ceremony
The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing held induction ceremonies across the state Feb. 26, to recognize 148 new nursing students as they committed to academic integrity and begin assimilating the values andbehaviors of the professional nurse. The ceremony also reiterated the most important values for the professipnal nurse and for the profession of nursing: responsibility, trustworthiness, honesty, fairness, and respect of others.
Ceremonies were held in Scottsbluff, Kearney, Lincoln and Omaha.
During the ceremony, students recited an oath of professionalism and signed a pledge. They also received the college's patch to be affixed to their uniforms. A reception followed at each location..
Students from the area involved in the ceremony were Michelle Shoemaker of O'Neill and Jamie Borg of Stuart in the UNMC College of Nursing at Kearney and Nicole Bouska of Stuart at the Lincoln Division ceremony.
