NVC Tournament begins Saturday

The Niobrara Valley Conference tournament begins Saturday,with the west half being hosted by Lynch and the east by Wheeler Central. Action will begin at 9 a.m. in Lynch 'with St.Mary's Lady Cardinals taking on the Lynch Lady Eagles. Games run throughout the day every hour and one half. St. Mary's and Chambers boys follow at 10:30 followed by Rock County and Spencer-Naper girls, then Rock County and Lynch boys, Chambers and Keya Paha girls, Spencer-Naper and Keya Paha boys play at 5 p.m. with Stuart boys and girls taking on Butte boys and girls.

In east action first seed Clearwater and eighth seed Elgin girls begin the day at 9 a.m. followed by Verdigre and Clearwater boys. Verdigre and Ewing girls play at noon with Ewing and Niobrara boys to follow. Orchard and Niobrara girls begin at 3:30 p.m. followed by Orchard and Elgin boys. Pope John Central and Wheeler Central girls start at 6:30, p.m. followed by boys action between Pope John Central and Wheeler Central.

Action will continue throughout the week with games on Jan. 31 and Feb. 2 with finals being held on Feb. 4 at West Holt High School. Games begin at 2 p.m. in consolation play.
