Catholic Education
Choosing a Catholic education for your child means you are providing your child many unique and important opportunities including but not limited to:
o Complete Faith Formation: At St. Mary's, your child benefits from weekly mass, weekly opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, theology classes, daily immersion in a Catholic environment and the freedom to pray and discuss matters of faith in all areas of academics and athletics.
o Academic Excellence: St. Mary's Elementary and Secondary students consistently excel academically. Almost every St. Mary's graduate not only goes on to pursue further studies, but does so much better prepared than their peers. In fact, nearly one quarter of all St. Mary's students taking the ACT exam in the past two years scored 30 or higher, which places one quarter of our students in the top 3% of students nationally. The addition of a modern science lab only enhances the quality of this education.
o Christian Responsibility: Instilled in each high school student is the responsibility of loving both God and our neighbor. This is done in two ways. Our service hours program fosters a sense of civil responsibility. Secondly, the Christian environment of our Catholic schools helps to insulate teens from the modem pressures of drugs, alcohol and illicit sexual activities. While Catholic school students are not immune-from such dangers, the Catholic environment provides not just fewer opportunities for temptation, but more opportunities for healing should mistakes be made.

Philosophy & Purpose
The purpose of St. Mary's School is to provide quality education in which students are stimulated to discover ways to live and share the Good News of Jesus Christ and to -prepare them for the challenge to build a society that reflects that message. St. Mary's seeks to provide total education that enhances the spiritual, intellectual, social; personal and physical development of each individual.
Spiritual Development
Saint Mary's School seeks to provide her students with an environment in which they are given the opportunity to live their Catholic faith in a commu-nity of believers. St. Mary's strivPs to integrate faith, knowledge, and Gospel values in both the curriculum and the daily transactions of the school. Faculty and staff as adult Christians are to be role models of faith development.
Intellectual Development
Saint Mary's School seeks to develop the student's intellectual faculties, arid to foster analytical thinking, an attitude of inquiryand a sense of wonder. In addition, St. Mary's encourages the students to develop practical and aesthetic values that will help them in career choices, in the constructive use of leisure time, and in the recognition of the fact that learning is a life long responsibility.
Personal Development
Saint Mary's School, in acknowledging the host of new choices facing the mid-adolescent student, seeks to make the well defined counsel of the Church a vital presence in the life of each young decision maker. The guiding forces which St. Mary's brings to bear upon personal development have the long range purpose of developing the young decision maker into a mature and self-determining Christian.
Social Development
Saint T.4ary's views itself as a community where each student can learn to relate corrifortably with others. The skills and graces of social activity are essential for the development of self-confidence, friendship, and community. Students need to make appropriate responses to authority structures in order to foster an orderly society. The development of and participation in student aca:vities makes possible the creation of an effective Christian citizen.
Physical Development
Saint Mary's School seeks to provide a program of physical education which allows learning opportunities for' all students and provides for their unique differences and individual needs. Health and physical education classes allow the student to obtain knowledge, experience, and skills as an active participant in a wide variety of activities. The athletic program encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and competition among individual athletes and ^ora; ibtrtes to sc?;oc? spirit and cc.,mr: ur,ity involvement.
