Ashley Braun, St. Mary's senior, brought home "the gold" in Oral Interpretation of Humorous Prose from the State D1 speech contest held in Kearney on March 22.

It is the second time for Braun to earn top honors at state speech. She also received a gold medal in the Humorous Prose division in her sophomore year.

As a freshman, Braun received a superior rating for her humorous interpretation.

Braun and sophomore Emily Dugan, competing State contest in Duet, were ranked "Superior."
