Colin Christopher Kirschmer

Colin Christopher Kirschmer, age 20, son of Larry and Lex Kirschmer was born in O'Neill, March 15, 1980. He died at Mercy Medical Center, Sioux City, IA on Oct. 20, 2000 following a motor vehicle accident.

Visitation was from 3:00 to 9:00 with a rosary at 8:00 p.m. on Oct. 23 with Father Mark Bridgeman officiating and classmates and friends sharing memories and music. Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Mark Bridgeman, Fr. Mark Filips; and Fr. Lydell Lape. Interment was in the O'Neill Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers were cousins, Tim Mark and Mike Wells, Greg Herley, Mark, Monty and Mike Steele, Rick, Dave, and Joe Pongratz. Gift bearers were cousins, Callie Wells, Sara Herley and Shelly Steele. Honorary pallbearers were Colin's classmates and friends. Music was provided by St. Patrick's Guitar Group. Biglin's Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Colin graduated from St. Mary's High School, O'Neill, in May 1999 and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and Nebraska football. Colin had worked with his dad and was in the process of moving to Yankton, SD.

Colin is survived by his parents Larry and Lex Kirschmer; grandmother, Deloris Kirschmer; grandparents, Joe and Theresa Fenton; uncles and aunts, Jim and Candice (Kirschmer) Wells, Wayne and Kathy (Kirschmer) Herley, Tim and Ann Fenton, Mary (Fenton) Steele, Dick and Ann (Fenton) Pongratz; Cousins, Tim Wells, Mark and wife Inez and son Mason Wells, Callie Wells and fiance Joe Vaura, Mark Wells, Greg and wife Karla and Daughter Karlene Herley, Sara Herley; Mark Steele and friend Beth and children Ian, Drake and Judy, Monty Steele, Mike Steele and Shelly Steele, Rick Pongratz, Dave and wife Teresa Pongratz and Joe Pongratz.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Herb Kirschmer and uncle Evan Steele.

Colin really enjoyed being with his family, classmates and friends. He was greatly loved and will be truly missed.
