As a freshman boarder I was impressed by the way the core members of the basketball team (mostly senior boys) attended early Mass in the chapel on the days they were to play a game.
The building itself was also very impressive. There was a front stairway that we never used casually. Once or twice a year on a very special occasion we did use the stairway..
The music and art rooms, the parlors were interesting. I liked the furniture; it was so large--at least in my eyes. The pictures were also large. Had to be to appropriately "fill the space."

I remember the Stetygal boys staying at the Academy, as they couldn't go back to school in Omaha because of sickness there. They couldn't hear because of wrong medicine put in their ears when they had an earache. I also remember the after school walks. One time it was very stormy, dark clouds and the steps on the church looked so pretty against the dark clouds. The ceilings were so high compared to the ones at home. We always had a snack after school. I don't remember what, but I think it was peanut butter on bread.
Thanks,
