Yes, I remember very well when St. Mary's had boarders. I was on for five years. The Golden Stairway is still fresh in my memory. I can still see our dear old Sister Maxine going to the landing to water all the beautiful plants that decorated it.
During that first year, I got the flu and was kept in the infirmary for several days. During the time I had the flu, it seemed that God told me I should not die but dedicate myself as a Religious Sister for the salvation of souls. That idea stayed with me the five years I was a boarder, and after I graduated in June 1918, I entered out Novitiate at Stella Niagara in August 1918. In August of this year that will be 80 years ago. I am now 97 in age.
I thank God for St. Mary's and the Sisters who taught me those five years, and I pray that the good work being done there will continue as it is at present. I am still interested in it and continue my prayers for the salvation of souls.
