The huge St. Mary's Academy Building was insured with the Catholic Mutual Insurance Co., in the amount of 300-thousand dollars.

Only recently the fire insurance coverage had been reviewed by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Timothy O'Sullivan. There had been a proposal to reduce the coverage to 70-thousand dollars.

Monsignor O'Sullivan rejected the proposal with a view toward examining the coverage again in "about a year".
