Earliest students will remember the auditorium as it appears in the photograph. Here hundreds of dramatists learned their cues and spoke their first lines before footlights; many were the vocal, instrumental music recitals, choral, band, and orchestra offerings. The auditorium also served as an assembly room and lecture hall. When the new St. Mary's High School was built, providing excellent stage and auditorium facilities, this room came into lesser usage, yet it continued as a center for school activities.
